I’ve been consulting for Australia’s leading Allied health company – The Altius Group.

They provide innovative health, employment, risk and claim solutions across Australia. Evidence-based from a team of occupational therapists, clinical and organisationally-trained registered psychologists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and workplace rehabilitation counsellors.

Altius was co-founded in 2001 by Derrick Borean with the aim of helping people realise their health potential.

As I delved into the business with Derrick and his leadership team, and looked for commonalities across the divisions that span employee assistance, management programs, workplaces, mental health, disability, the NDIS and therapeutic support, an evolved, people-centric positioning started to pop out.

And it’s all in the name Altius – which is latin for higher.  You may remember from the Olympic motto: Citius, Altius, Fortius – Faster, Higher, Stronger. As well as grounded in their approach of always providing a bespoke, tailored model of service and support for every need.

It was also critical to ensure that the positioning stretched across all their target audiences: internal staff and front line service and support teams; insurers; workplace managers; workers; NDIS  participants, workers employed with a health condition and their support networks.

From there I started consulting on customer journeys, knowledge transfer across the teams, and a measurement approach.

2022 will be an exciting year for Altius as the evolved strategic positioning and personality come to life visually. As well as being conveyed consistently through team behaviours, language, and a more engaging tone of voice.

I can’t wait to see the next phase of Altius’ growth – as they help people to achieve higher levels of health and wellbeing.
